FES has been engaged in every aspect of explosives manufacturing, use, and consulting for nearly 70 years.  FES has focused on key elements, including Blasting Specifications, Project Oversight, Blast Video Reviews, Fragmentation Control, Flyrock Mitigation, Explosive Selection, Blast Design Parameters, and Safety.

Slope Remediation and Emergency Rock Slides

I-35 Murray County, Oklahoma 
Explosive Design by Daniel B Conn, detonation by KESCO, Inc.

Designed to remove a rock ledge containing over 600 cubic yards and up to 1,500 tons of massive rock using no more than 400 pounds of explosives.

Results were a success from both in the engineering results and safety aspect. 

Project required emergency DOT and State Approval for Blasting Licensees and Blast Plan. FES and KESCO worked to provide all requirements promptly.

Blasting Consulting and Management

Route 9 Woodford, Vermont
Blasting Consultant for Golder Associates, Inc.

Project consists of the stabilization of rock cuts along Route 9. Fragmentation Efficiency Service Inc. is contracted to provide Blasting Consultant Services. Including for review/comment/ approval of the submitted blasting plan compared to the state specification. Also review/comment/approval of individual pre blast plans, post shot reports, vibration results, and video study.

Department of Transportation Projects

TDOT I-24 Marion County, Tennessee
Explosive Design by Daniel B Conn, detonation by KESCO, Inc.

Tennessee Department of Transportation approved Earthwork Engineering firm. Fragmentation Efficiency Services managed drilling/scaling subcontractor.  Completed explosives designs and pre and post shot review.  This project focus was on slope stabilization.

US Corp of Amy Engineers Projects

Kentucky Lock and Dam Additions
Explosive Design by Daniel B Conn, detonation by KESCO, Inc.

Approved by USCAE for Blasting Specialist position, all blasts designed and schedule. Master Blast Plan creation and submission receiving approval from the USCAE, including all pre shot and post shot documentation. This includes vibration predictions, product selection,  and schedule.
